Book Distribution

FCM makes books available that promote community, empathy, and respect for the earth and all its inhabitants, through school and community events and through our little free libraries.

As scholar Ruth Sims Bishop first stated, all children need books that serve as mirrors, reflecting their own experience, and books that are windows to other worlds, real or created, with sliding glass doors that invite the reader right in.

We give out books at community events such as Ogden Botanical Gardens’ Earth Day Birthday celebration and Junior League of Ogden’s Trick-or-Treat in Oasis Community Garden.

George Washington High School students choose books for themselves and their siblings of all ages at school events such as our Hoodie Day right before winter break.

Free Community Meal is organized by a volunteer committee of community members in Ogden, Utah.
